[laridae065] Tomoroh Hidari - The Black Star Variations
In 2012, Tomoroh Hidari will release his light absorbing ambient monster "Some Stars Not Yet Black Holes" as double 12" on Record Label Records.
Due to the extreme mass of this project, laridae was able to utilize the caused divergency in space-time, to release the spin-off album "The Black Star Variations" even BEFORE its own source release.
So, we invite you to swap the Star of Betlehem with Hidari's Black Stars of dark ambient and wish you all a merry saturnalia!

Second Thought - Another Setting Sun
"Another Setting Sun" is the final album from Second Thought, the previous recording name of UK musician Ross Baker. This album is the coda to a quintilogy of full length albums released between 2004 and 2011. Music of Second Thought has always stayed close to the concept of dream-like travel, troubled wordless travel, and organic journeys. For those familiar with Second Thoughts output, the sound of "Another Setting Sun" fall directly between "Purlieu" and "Leaf Pass". This makes sense seeing that much of the music here was originally recorded before "Purlieu" and finished around the same time as "Leaf Pass". The result is a varied array of moods, paths, and instrumental sounds. Each track is linked together with field recordings, bird sounds, and spoken word snippets. Layered above, is reverberated synths, classical piano, and subdued electronic rhythms. It is equal parts beautiful, ambient, and experimental. A fitting tale of warm endings and new beginnings.
'Another Setting Sun' is a history of my music from the earliest days of Second Thought through to the present. All tracks here are previously unheard, or have been unavailable for the best part of a decade. I hope you enjoy the album as much as I enjoyed putting it together and reliving all of these memories. A million thanks yous to everybody who's listened over the years. ~ Ross Baker

[mhrk076] Kevin Bryce - A Blameless Land
Kevin Bryce is based out of Vancouver, Canada. Currently he makes electronic music that falls loosely into the ambient and downtempo genres. He has been making music since 1982. His latest efforts have focused on trying to express sonically the things that have influenced him throughout his life.
"I've always been amazed at the ability music has to capture moments in time. Listen to a song you haven't heard in a while and memories from that time will come flooding back, the people you knew, the feelings you had at the time, where your head was at, etc. Conversely, with some music, you can close your eyes and imagine things that have never existed. That is what I try to do with the music I make today. It is my hope that the listener will sit back, close their eyes and feel a sense of nostalgia for a moment that never existed, remember a scene that never happened.
I hope as well that this music will be played as background music. I hope it is just audible enough to be heard behind conversations, yet loud enough to creep into the conscious mind during a quiet moment.
Most of all, it is my hope that someone somewhere will enjoy listening to this music as much as I enjoyed making it."
The tracks in his debut release on Mahorka were inspired by nature and the time he has spent in the forests of British Columbia. "I think the dichotomy between nature and technology was the biggest influence on most of these works. "When I'm feeling really egotistical I like to pretend I'm like Proust documenting my own history in art, except using electronic music instead of literature. So these songs are personal vignettes in a way, moments from my past that I've tried to musically recreate."

[dystopiaq027] Ambient Anonymous - Twilight of Empire

Ambient Anonymous returns with his second release from Dystopiaq.
“The calm before the storm, the moment when summer turns to autumn, when rebellion turns to war…severed and stained with haematoxylin & eosin, analysed cells that watch with disinterest, as the prospectors stake their claims on Pipelineistan, as the limousine liberals preach genocidal austerity, as a fist shatters the gentle schooling of a thousand golden fish…our futile chains must begin to rattle, to rouse the slumbering barbarian at this twilight hour, before we become merely tourists of history, our names written on the walls of dead cities…”

(ca479) Nöno - Juguetes

Juguetes (toys) is the first album of Nöno, a look back at the nostalgia of childhood, the dreams, the noises, the feelings and the thoughs of the child we were back in our infancy. Built half-way between neo-classic sounds, noise and electronica, is a reflexion of everything we were, everything we have lost, everything we can remember, what we are now, and everything that will continue with us until the day we die.
About Nöno:
Nöno is born at the beginning of March, 2008, with the meeting of two musicians, Nacho, from "Bosques de mi Mente", and Nacho, the guitar player from Emerge, thanks to an ad in the internet. They both share a common view on music and the need to create a sound capable of expressing feelings, paint scenes the impressionistic way and bring thoughts, abstract or not, from the past or an unlikely future, to your mind. They also have a feeling for experimentation and a love for toy instruments. With childhood and innocence as palette, they start to "paint" compositions merging classical minimalist music, electronic, folk, ambient, noise, postrock and whatever other style that comes to mind. Some months later Sergio joins the band, bringing a new fresh air of classical melody, and a bit later Dario, in charge of transmuting sound into images and films, joins also. After the guitar player's departure, some guitarist line-up changes occur during 2009, until finally Raul joins Nöno, bringing with him a blow of fresh air to the band.
Nöno makes its first appearance in concert at the "CHill Bill" on the 5th of June of 2009.
Images are as important as music in Nöno, because they both coexist in harmony and one gives meaning to the other. We recommend you to look for the Nöno videos and enjoy Nöno in its entirety.
Nacho (Bosques de mi Mente): Piano, keyboards, xilophone, toy piano, found sounds, background noise.
Sergio: violin, xilophones, melodic noise.
Raul (Klaus Reza): guitar, xilophone, electronic noise.
Dario (VJ Bocho): film projections, electronics, visual noise.
